Kitchen Budapest
Kitchen Budapest (Hungary) is a new media lab for young researchers, interested in the convergence of mobile communication, online communities and urban space. KIBU is passionate about creating experimental projects in cross-disciplinary teams.

Research fields
What happens to the net once it meets the urban space? How does private space relate to the saturating wireless networks? Where does user created content gain authority? How does our use of cities alter as we get more and more real time feedback of its dynamics? What makes a home smart? Street-smart?
Kitchen Budapest likes to rethink and remix the possibilities of new media in our everyday lives and to argument connections between new technologies and our society.
KIBU at Noordkaap
András Szalay and Melinda Sipos of KIBU will join Recycle X and are invited to develop a workshop on-site. 'Scratch that Itch' will take place in the KIBU Space, where you can sit, browse and interact with a selection of typical KIBU projects and products.
András Sly Szalai is a multimedia hacker and prototype ninja, who connects everyday objects to his computer, or remotes control non-everyday things with an ordinary mobile phone. He also works as an artist and interaction designer and likes to build crazy installations that makes people mad.
Melinda Sipos is a Budapest-based artist and interaction designer. She is currently the program director of Kitchen Budapest.
Recycle X is a cooporation project of Noordkaap and The Patching Zone.
