Dutch art critic Machteld Leij reflects on the way in which the Dutch art scene has responded to the rise of populism. Sociologist and political scientist Merijn Oudenampsen attempts to explain the rise of populism in the light of the work of political theorists Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau. Macha Roesink, managing director of musuem De Paviljoens in Almere (Holland), wrote about the BLACK MY STORY and the current Dutch situation concerning our attitude towards identity, and whiteBOX curator Michael Wüst wrote about the Munich party area Kultfabrik where the whiteBOX is located as well.
