Remotewords
Remotewords disseminates literary statements via Google Earth and other virtual-globe systems.
REMOTEWORDS is a long-term artistic project that installs messages (in various languages) onto roofs worldwide, and disseminates these through virtual globes such as Google Earth. In capital letters, the messages are permanently applied onto the rooftops of respective institutions with paint. The location and the message conceptually form a semantic unit. The goal of this action is to publicize the message via a satellite system, with a time delay due to the fact that the data in the system is often only updated once a year or every few years. Google Earth is available at no extra charge to any Internet user, and the program reproduces the entire surface of the world with impressive detail.
Noordkaap invited the artists to join the European tour, and to use the roof of our container, which travels from city to city. REMOTEWORDS will connect the container to specific locations in each hosting city. A GPS tracker will be installed in order to track down the Noordkaap container during the two year tour.

REMOTEWORDS was established 2007 in Cologne, Germany.
Artists: Achim Mohné and Uta Kopp
