Our project-space is meant for research, intervention and exchange.

It is not a gallery, where end-results are presented. The project-space presents working and thinking processes and models; it is a flexible space in which we create room for unpredictability.

From the project-space interventions are initiated for both street and the city: street-performance, projections, architectural models, interviews, workshops and so on. Artists are invited to make use of empty shopwindows, empty houses, back alleys, street furniture and the social codes in the street.

In the last twenty years the Voorstraat Noord has been the subject of several urban restructuring strategies. These strategies never really worked out, which leaves the street now in an interesting interface. For instance it was not involved in the renewal program that has been imposed to upgrade the inner-city (trash bin plan, policy on green, light plan and other street furniture). Also the big commercial events in the city, that attract huge amounts of buying tourists (Christmas Market, music festivals, historical events, etc.) are not taking place in the Voorstraat Noord. When the whole inner-city lights up due to banal decorations in the months around Christmas, for example, the Voorstraat Noord stays dark and untouched.
